This is not a love story. It's the story of how I learned that not everyone who comes back is meant to stay ........

I thought of this poem during a hard time I was going through. My mother is in prison and I wanted her to have something that could take her mind out and above this unfair and wrong world. She loved it and I hope you do too.

You appeared, quite unexpectedly might I add. Yet you showed up. Presented yourself before me scared, nervous, but ready to try. Our hearts both on the mend, broken from other before us. You painted this image: walls stacked high, a force field to deflect the pain...tumbled around the more we spoke. I talked to you like we'd known each other for years, an old friend, no fear or worries of retaliation. Open and honest. The nerves and anxiety disappeared the moment I saw you. But how? Laying next to you brings a feeling of ease while our bodies melt together, feeling as one. Your hugs bring comfort. Our hands together feel strength. Your words are those I've only dreamed I'd one day hear. Your actions already speaking as loud as your words. Time has been but an instant, an interval of measure we can barley keep straight. A span so short, but feeling like months in all the best possible ways. You're not what I'd imagine I would be here with, it's true. But the home my heart is making for you, believe I only imagine you now. I think I'm falling in love with you. ~ Ankit Dubey ✨
