Midwinter Stories

A collection of short stories that tie in to my Fae of Calaveras trilogy (now complete on Wattpad). They supplement the main plot with side stories about Rosa, a teen witch living in a rural Northern California town, and her friends, including faeries, a kitsune, and a human girl raised by vampires. The first story, "Witch Test", is a prequel to Small Town Witch and can be read at any point in the series. Rosa tells the story of how she became a witch by passing the Faeries' test--and got more than she bargained for when a dangerous Fae started to threaten her. "A Midwinter Night's Dream" takes place between books 1 and 2. Rosa and her friends go to a party at the faerie castle to celebrate the Longest Night. But things go bad when Rosa tries to "fix" her friends' relationships with a love potion that backfires. "Midsummer Knight" is a side story about events that took place before book 1. Ashleigh's complicated relationship with her betrothed, Glen, gets tested when he starts to ask for more than just friendship. Meanwhile, his knightly "quest" to slay a dangerous monster turns out to be more difficult than it first appears. This, for now untitled, story was my attempt for NaNoWriMo 2011. Eventhough I didn't manage to reach the 50,000 words I will continue on with the story and upload it here as regularly as possible. Thanks for reading, comments and constructive feedback always welcome. Enjoy~

When you first see her at the bus stop, you're overwhelmed by her beauty. On the next day you start to wonder. What is she waiting for on a place where busses never stop? (I'm not a native speaker. If you find some mistakes, please let me know and i will correct them.)

As with all things writing, I find my mind sometimes wanders into the strangest of situations. Characters pop into my mind doing the oddest things. Today it was the turn of Santa, reimagined for a Fantasy world with a little help from some old characters from past games of Dungeons and Dragons. Merry Christmas to all!

The first of winter-themed short stories. These may include characters from other books, so keep an eye out for them! Most of them will involve Ariadne, a character very close to my heart, and creatures that I have created along with many from other mythologies and cultures.
