No matter how much money you have, it can't fix a broken family. Mallory [who is later unoffically renamed Y/N by her Lady's Maid Euphoria] is given up by her family to Wammy's House because she has "no use for the family anymore." She excludes herself to avoid getting used, but due to the unfortunate increase in children, people are forced to be roomed together, and she's roomed with the outsider named Mello. Everyday, she journals her journeys of despair and wish to be removed from the world but when she finally speaks up to Mello, each word crumbles his walls. Two geniuses, but only one first place on the podium. Mello can barely stand Near's presence at Wammy's House and intends to do everything in his power to defeat him. That is, until he is surprised by a proposal for cooperation on a project. Mello can hardly believe the audacity of his enemy, how could he even suggest that? Mello doesn't care about being hated within the orphanage, he has his eyes on the prize: succeeding L. Watari has already begun to consider possible successors, and the only thing standing between him and L's throne is Near. Kira's murders are on the rise, and this is the perfect opportunity to show them what he's made of.

Mello decides to leave Wammy's House for good. He can't stand it there anymore. Matt decides to leave with him. He didn't want to be left alone in that orphanage by himself. Mello often tell him how he was stupid for following, but Matt knew it was the right thing. A month, or two, later, they somehow end up being a part of the mafia. Mello and Matt have gotten older, and things are becoming different. Mello is mood-ier, and Matt... spends most of his time alone. What happens when Matt hears about Mello's insane plan to blow up a warehouse? What happens when he finds Mello after the explosion? What happens when Matt starts to notice that he may have different feelings for Mello? What happens when everything changes? Well, as they say... here's to New Beginnings.
