Struggling to make any sort of living, all Historia wants is a normal and quiet life for her and her daughter to protect her from the horrors of the Marley/Eldia war. That is until one night after a long day when Historia is visited by somebody from her past as both "Krista Lenz" and the Queen........

(Mikasa's POV) After the rumbling and following Eren's death, Mikasa had tried the military but it kept reminding her of rimes when she wouldn't cry next to a small grave under the tree where she, Armin and Eren used to play all the time when they were little. Historia is saddened by the news of the world and losing Ymir, she's losing her ability to be herself. to be free. she blames Eren Yeager but- it's Eren, he doesn't care, same goes for Mikasa. Mikasa has been feeling rather starved of love, starved of care, and she's just as suicidal as ever. what if Mikasa and Historia can fall in love with each other? what if comfort is calmness, and without each other, they will never be calm?

Set only some time after the events of the anime with the bird having returned her scarf, Mikasa Ackerman is dragged back into the seedy underbelly of both Marley and Eldia when Queen Historia Reiss abandons her position as the queen and flees with her daughter to start a new life over and as it turns out Mikasa is the only person capable of bringing her back. Now what follows is a dangerous cat-and-mouse game as Historia finds herself hunted and tracked by Mikasa all the while the two begin to realize they may have more in common than they thought.
