After the losers club defeat pennywise richie tozier moved to Hawkins and got adopted by the wheelers ( police in Derry found out that richie parents were very abusive ) when he got adopted he never told anyone about pennywise and the losers club intill pennywise came for a early visit.

This is a Richie is Mike story: Mike Wheeler is not who he said that he was. His real name is Richie Tozier. He moved into Hawkins after a failed confession and an altercation with his parents.
