Sometimes, Frankie Berzatto was sure she'd do anything to be with her dad again. Anything. But then she'd remember Uncle Richie's face when he picked her up from school that day or watching from a cold plastic chair as Aunt Sugar collapsed in Pete's arm. She didn't think she could do that to them again, unless she couldn't help it.

38 year old Sydney Adamu is tired. She has lost the love of her life, her business and now has to start from zero after years of putting all of her work, time and energy into becoming a success. 25 year old Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto is exhausted. He has lost the most important person in his life and now has to go back home to face all of the trauma that he had been running from. When they find each other it is like the stars aligned. They are everything that they need and are missing in their pursuit of greatness, however, Carmy's intensity makes Sydney question if maybe she should give up and look for stability instead. Realizing his mistake, Carmy asks Sydney to give him 1 year. 1 year to open their dream restaurant. 1 year to make it work. 1 year to be great.

Set in the universe of the hit TV show, The Bear, this story follows Destiny Grace Corbin, the childhood best friend of Carmen Berzatto. Forced to be apart, they found each other again and fell in love. Now they have to navigate their life, relationship, and business after the death of Mikey. This book does follow the show up until Chapter 11 (end of season 2). Please feel free to ask any plot and/character questions.
