To fire up the crowd and keep things new, Alex Turner and Miles Kane flirt onstage. Can they keep their private relationship a secret, though?

'You're bloody mad for loving me, y'know?' He laughed, sitting down on the bench next to me and running his large hands across his slicked back hair. 'Why?' I questioned, my right arm resting across the length his broad shoulders. He turned to look at me, his beautiful smile faltering. 'Because we're from two completely different worlds, Miles. I'm selfish for keeping you with me because it's inevitable that you're gonna get hurt, and when that eventually happens, which it will, I'll hate myself because it'll all be my fault. I let you get too close but I couldn't help it... To me, you're like heroin is to a drug addict and I'm sempiternally addicted to you.' He sighed, his sun-glassed gaze falling onto my face. I was irreversibly in love with this man. And I wouldn't change anything about him for the world... Well, maybe a few things but that's another story for another day...

It's 2016: The Last Shadow Puppets have just released a new album called Everything You've Come To Expect, and it has climbed the charts. The leader of the band, Alex Turner, is going on a tournée with his best friend Miles Kane. Everything's great: they have a great friendship based on trust and funny jokes... and a little bit of physical contact, too. Miles's having a lot of fun 'till he sees a post on Instagram: it's a picture of him and Alex, and they seem really close. Is this the way everyone sees them? What if they're right? [The photo was taken during a concert: Alex and Miles were singing using the same microphone, and their faces were very close. Their noses were touching on. «How do you explain that?» the interviewer questioned, amused by their reactions. «Well, there was only one mic around here», Alex laughed. «We both know that's not true», she insisted. «Come on, we're just friends», Miles said, even more uncomfortable about that.]

Miles believed he did somewhat of a good job at hiding his feelings from himself; no matter what his heart told him his brain kept pushing them away. It worked for a while. But his feelings kept creeping up on him, drowning him. The only thing keeping him afloat was his own mind, telling him that it would never work out, that Alex would never like him the way he did. His feelings were getting progressively harder to manage. The days since before they met seemed to all blur into one. Every bad thing that had happened, every worry that was bothering him seemed to dissipate once Alex entered his life, it's as if the sky itself became more radiant. Miles spent many restless nights thinking about Alex, wondering that perhaps maybe, his feelings were reciprocated. It was the casual gestures he would make that made him hopeful; brushing against his shoulder, the hand holding, the hugs that lasted a little too long, for god's sake even the way he smiled at him felt different.

Worst cover up ever? The love story of Alex and Miles trying desperately to hide their love for each other from the public eye but I'm not sure it's working very well.
