Sequel to Spider-verse: The Twist. Who knows what would have happened if things had gone a bit differently- if Gwen and Miles had had their spark earlier on. If Miles was still grieving the loss of his mentor- if we got to see the toll that being Spider-man really took on our hero. Maybe the outcome would have been different. Maybe Gwen would have sided with Miles from the beginning. Maybe, Maybe, Maybe. So many 'what ifs', but... who can really know?

"Friends... See you around, Spider-Man." These were the last words Miles would ever hear from a certain blonde girl. Friends are supposed to be the ones always there for you in life, yet the one person that seemed to be Miles's only friend was gone, separated from each other because of an inevitable obstacle. All Miles wished was to see her just one more time. Just to talk to her one more time, but it seemed like his wish would only belong to his fantasies. But what if fate decided to start bending the rules? What if Miles gets his wish granted? What will happen? What will be waiting? Can there be a happy ending? NOTE: This story was started as a fanfic for Into the Spiderverse and thus is based on that, not Across the Spiderverse so it will be very inconsistent with what happens in ATS.

For almost a year, Miles has been the one and only Spider-Man in his universe. Ever since Miles and his alternate friends saved Brooklyn from being destroyed by King Pin, the gang had to eventually return back to their home universe, making MIles the only Spider-Man in his universe. A year had passed and a new girl came into Miles' school. Becoming friends, the girl started to have somewhat feeling for the boy without Miles noticing. Becoming close friends, Miles noticed that she was also a person with superpowers. To make his job easier, Miles decided to help and train the girl. During the process, Miles met a friend that he thought he would never see again.

Miles and Gwen had been best friends since freshman year. They had also both been denying their romantic feelings towards each other for that long, despite their obvious attraction and undeniable chemistry. They were both stuck in their own worlds, too consumed by their own feelings to consider the other's. But this year, it was going to be different. Miles was coming off of the high of summer, ready to start junior year, look at colleges, and most of all... to tell Gwen his feelings. Whatever those hard-to-decipher feelings are. No Heroes AU where they all go to school together for drama and social dynamics. Deaths of mentors have occured, backstories (minus the hero part ofc) and jealousy ensue.

As Miles escapes Nueva York (Earth-928), and temporarily says goodbye to the Spider Society, his Spider friends, especially to Gwen, an unexpected Spider-Man arrives, hoping to change the hearts and minds of the Spider Society, especially Miguel, into helping the teenage Spiderman Miles Morales.

What if things had gone differently? What if the blond Peter Parker of Earth 1610 got to train Miles like he said he would? What if Miles had already been Spider-Man for a week before the collider went off? What if Miles's first encounter with Gwen was different?
