THE WAR IS ALMOST OVER. THE NIGHTMARE IS JUST BEGINNING.
November, 1918. The Meuse-Argonne Offensive is reaching its brutal climax, and the end of the Great War is finally within sight. But for a small squad of American Doughboys, salvation is cut short when a sudden German mustard gas attack forces them deep underground into a captured concrete bunker.
Trapped in the damp dark, their only lifeline is the suffocating rubber of their gas masks. To break the seal is suicide. But as the hours stretch into days, a rhythmic tapping echoes through the ventilation pipes-a phantom Morse code broadcasting their conversations seconds before they happen.
Then comes the final, terrifying transmission: a headcount that doesn't add up.
