In the year 2156, the Blackwell family rules the stars through unmatched strategy-until their brilliance turns inward. As betrayal spreads aboard a massive deep-space vessel, the youngest Blackwell must abandon innocence and rely on intellect alone to survive. Forced to make impossible choices in a collapsing dynasty, he learns a dangerous truth: kindness can be fatal in a universe that rewards foresight over mercy. A science-fiction tale of survival, loyalty, and the quiet cost of winning. (This is a short story that I wrote for an assignment it uses names of other characters from other books I am writing but is completely unrelated to this short story)

They might be the only ones who can uncover the truth behind Eclipse... and take it down from the inside. Sci-fi. Horror. Action. Found family. Pain. Power. And the price of being human.

"To each of us falls a task. And all the emperor requires of us Guardsmen is that we stand the line and we die fighting. It is what we do best. We die standing." - General Sturnn, 412th Cadian Shock Trooper Regiment. Cayden Ludwik was once a citizen of the hive world of Acheron IV. He, like millions of others, was a manufactorum worker, a small cog in a great machine, but soon he would be conscripted to the Astra Militarum. The Imperial Guard. Now, instead of hearing the roaring machines of the Omnissiah, he would hear the constant artillery bombardments of the enemies of mankind, instead of a warm bed within a decayed apartment block, he would have a dugout within his trench, the only warmth coming from his lasgun barrel, and when he stood upon his firestep, fixing his bayonet, ready to charge at the enemies of mankind. He knew he had his faith within the God-Emperor and a story to write within his journal. If he lives. Note: This is simply a fanfiction story. All rights go to Game Workshops and their properties.

The eighteenth entry of the 2020-2021 Film Journal is "Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow". In this unhappy piece, I examine how the promised horrors of the previous installment come home to roost and how this development reflects the true nature of "Gundam".

The invaders fired without warning. The space station exploded in a soundless ball of flame, incinerating the Patrol ships as they scrambled to launch. Lasers burned swathes through the planet settlements, destroying buildings and killing thousands in their path. In less than an hour, Bellatru was a smoking ruin. Then, the visitors launched the ground troops.

The sixteenth entry of the 2020-2021 Film Journal is on the compilation film, "Mobile Suit Gundam (1981)". Here, I look back on my experience with this anime series, the sub-genre of military science-fiction, and how this film's construction begins the thematic groundwork for what makes "Gundam" tick.

This is the sequel to Galaxy Dog, but it can be read as a book in itself. The characters in Chapter 1, for example, are completely new and we will only learn how they fit into this sequel as the writing progresses. The books from this series are about humanity in a far future galaxy, a future so remote that Earth is all but forgotten. The characters encounter aliens, conflict, technology so advanced it seems like magic, but the greatest threat comes perhaps from their own government.
