At the time Lucas( father )never wanted any kids but on the other hand he wanted to make his wife Rose ( mom ) happy because all she ever wanted was to be a mother. So when all 3 kids were born Lucas never care to pay attention to any of them and if they annoyed him he would etheir lock them in the room or slap them.
