Fast-forward to five years in the future! Milo and the gang are off at college, and as they tour the campus Milo notices a peculiar woman. After he speaks to her, she notices that he seems familiar, and she might be able to prove something about his time-traveling whereabouts that would immortalize her name, but ruin his college career. Milo Murphy was born with a curse, ever since he was a baby everything that can go wrong around him, will go wrong. However, he never saw this as a curse at all, in fact he adored it and just rode the wave of chaos that followed him everywhere. But what happens when things take a turn? what will Milo do when he's faced with a situation that has no positive side? Dakota was about to start his job as a time traveler, while not everything was going out as planned he still tried gave his best, even though time traveling wasn't really his passion. This is also a story about how Cavendish and Dakota first met.

What could go right for the boy everything goes wrong for? Usually, Milo Murphy is well-prepared to deal with his family's... hereditary condition. Murphy's law may be a little troublesome, but really. Anything can be faced with a smile! Besides, normalcy would be boring. Who would want to be normal? Well, after a little thought on a slightly gloomy day, Milo sort of wonders what it -would- be like if he was... like the other kids. How would he live a life that wasn't constantly wreaked with adventure, hospital trips, and interrupted plans? Was that even possible? What would he do? He had a few ideas, so he made a list. Somehow, after a series of events that some might deem 'unlucky', Milo finds that Murphy's law is apparently subject to a few strange exceptions. Walking under a ladder backwards and breaking a mirror, or opening an umbrella indoors in front of a black cat, for instance, would usually be expected to cause some bad consequences.
