Her agent and maternal aunt (also former star of hit teen drama Beverly Hills 90210) Melinda North gets her an audition for a secret project by the BBC... which turns out to be none other than its iconic sci-fi series, Doctor Who. Lily is cast as Adeline "Addie" Williams and her four-year-old daughter Amber (who was born when Lily was sixteen) is cast as Addie's daughter Elaina, two characters who are promised to change the series' status quo. While filming, Lily and Amber grow close to the Eleventh Doctor himself, Matt Smith. And it's very apparent to everyone around them that Lily and Matt are meant for each other. But with Lily still mourning her father, her little sister being a brat, Melinda's stage-mom tendencies, and Amber's birth father's return... will Lily be able to admit her feelings to Matt?
