Some people disappear all at once. Others vanish one unnoticed piece at a time. Adrian's life was painfully ordinary until the morning he realised something impossible had gone missing. No one else seemed to notice. No one else seemed to care. As the days pass, reality begins to fracture. Mirrors hesitate. Strangers forget his face. The city grows colder, quieter, and disturbingly indifferent. Then he meets a girl who carries a secret as impossible as his own, and together they begin to uncover a truth buried beneath the routines of modern life. In a world where loneliness is normal, silence is mistaken for strength, and people slowly become invisible long before they die, how do you prove you ever existed? A haunting tale of identity, isolation, and the quiet cruelty of society, Umbra explores what remains of a person when the world stops seeing them. Some mysteries are meant to be solved. Others simply wait for the next person to disappear.

Why do dreams occur at night? And what do they symbolize? Are they fragments of an existing Multiverse? Or are they just mere creations of our own intense feelings and emotions? The question that even modern science failed to answer. Meet Kaizen Mizuki, an ordinary high schooler living an extraordinary nightmare. By day, he survives classrooms, bullying, and the quiet weight of expectations pressing down on him from every direction. By night, his sleep fractures into something far stranger, dreams that feel too real, spaces that exist between waking and reality, and fears that take shape and speak back. At first, they are only dreams. Then they begin to follow him. As Kaizen drifts through liminal worlds where logic bends and fear becomes tangible, he learns that sleep is not an escape, but a doorway. What begins as psychological horror slowly unfolds into something vast, astral travel, higher dimensions, and cosmic beings that do not hate humanity... yet are willing to erase it without hesitation. While galaxies burn and universes tremble beyond human perception, Kaizen still wakes up for school. He still laughs with friends. He still falls in love. Aoi, a girl who is playful, teasing, and painfully human towards him becomes his anchor to a normal life, even as Kaizen is pulled further away from it. Between awkward lunches, quiet walks, and moments of fragile romance, he carries a truth no one else can see, that reality itself is unstable, and he may be the only one standing between the boundary of existence and collapse. This is a slow burn story, blending slice-of-life warmth with psychological tension, scientific curiosity, and cosmic horror, Liminal Drift is a story about crossing boundaries, between dreams and waking, fear and courage, love and responsibility. Because sometimes, survival isn't just about saving the universe... It's about choosing to face it, even when the cost is everything... - P.S- Images in this story are all AI generated

THE DIVIDE One school. Two worlds. One terrible secret. At Westbridge Academy, the rules are simple. Students either pay tuition or receive financial aid. The two groups never meet. They never share classes, eat in the same cafeteria, or even walk the same halls. Questions aren't encouraged, and curiosity has a way of disappearing. Seventeen-year-old Lark Foster has spent her entire life accepting that some things simply aren't meant to be understood. But when a chance encounter leads her beyond the invisible boundary separating the two student populations, she discovers that the divide isn't about money. It's about control. Behind the walls of Westbridge lies a hidden world where students aren't just educated; they're studied. Every test score, every emotion, every decision is part of something far larger than anyone could imagine. Someone has been watching them all along. As Lark and a small group of unlikely allies race to uncover the truth, they find themselves hunted by the very institution that raised them. And the deeper they dig, the more terrifying the truth becomes: The experiments were never the goal. They were only the beginning.

I don't remember when it started. Or maybe I do... I just don't want to. Time doesn't move for me the way it does for you. It drags. It repeats. It doesn't let go. I have lived longer than I was ever meant to. Long enough to see the same endings... again and again. People call it a gift. They're wrong. If it was a gift, it wouldn't feel like this. It wouldn't feel like watching everything fade while you remain-unchanged, unwanted, unfinished. I'm not trying to save the world. I just want this to end. But time... doesn't listen. Time doesn't heal anything. It only moves forward. Erin Pandore learned that too young-when loss rewrote her childhood and turned physics into something personal. By the time she enters university, she's already dangerous: a prodigy obsessed with bending time, convinced that the universe is not an arrow, but a structure that can be corrected. Then she meets Dr. Blanche Song. A physicist who speaks about time like it's already been rewritten. A woman who changes everything without trying. And Erin begins building something that might not just change her life-but rupture reality itself. Because if time can be bent... then maybe loss was never final.

Nancy, a piano virtuoso with dissociative amnesia, finds herself disorientated when macabre looking figures start taking shape after moving to a new place. Despite her eerily calm family glossing over it, Nancy wants to find out more. While finding solace in her fiancé Harlem, he reveals appalling news that spur Nancy to seek the truth that lies in her past, her mental state, and her family. P.S This is roughly inspired by the movie Forgotten 2017. I watched the movie and was fascinated by the concept and the revelation at the end. I kind of had an idea to twist that to something different. If you like mind bending thriller movies, try out watching Forgotten 2017!

Some places are not meant to be found. Others refuse to stay lost. When cartographer Elias Morrow is called to an uncharted region of the Atlantic, he expects flawed data, human error, and the usual map distortions-not resistance. The island does not behave like land. The closer it is defined, the more it shifts. The more it is understood, the less it exists. As a missing survey team's final logs grow stranger and more certain, Elias is drawn into a place that rejects precision, punishes certainty, and rewrites those who try to impose order on it. What begins as a recovery mission quickly becomes something more dangerous. It becomes a confrontation with the limits of perception, control, and identity itself. Because this island doesn't just defy mapping- It changes the people who try. And the most dangerous moment... Is when you think you finally understand it.

After death, the greatest minds in early American history awaken in a place they cannot understand-a vast, silent observation chamber known only as The Glass Room. From here, they can see the living world. But the living world cannot see them. No voices cross the divide. No warnings can be given. No intervention is possible. They are forced into eternal observation-watching centuries unfold through one-way panes of glass, like prisoners behind a mirror in an interrogation room where history is both suspect and evidence. What they witness is not the nation they once knew-but something that grew far beyond their design. A modern world of overwhelming scale, fractured trust, accelerating information, and constant political tension. Every decision echoes outward. Every consequence compounds. Every assumption they once held is tested against outcomes they never could have foreseen. At first, they try to understand it. Then they begin to argue. Was the system flawed from the start-or corrupted over time? Is instability the price of freedom, or the sign of collapse? And if a republic survives but no longer resembles its creators' intent... does it still mean success? As the Founding Fathers fracture into competing interpretations of their own legacy, the Glass Room becomes more than an afterlife. It becomes an endless debate between philosophy and reality. Between intention and consequence. Between what a nation was built to be-and what it became without permission. A political psychological thriller about power, time, and irreversible history, The Glass Room asks one haunting question: What happens when the architects of a system can only watch it evolve... and realize they no longer agree on what they built?

There are moments where everything could go differently. Most people call it chance. Iris calls it selection. She doesn't control reality. She chooses which version of it stays. At first, it's small, unnoticed, and harmless choices. Until the outcomes stop feeling random. Until people begin to notice the pattern. Until the versions that don't remain... start to matter. Between a best friend who understands her a little too well and a stranger who sees more than he should, Iris is forced to confront something she's avoided: Not every choice is neutral. And not every version of her deserves to exist. AI NOTE: I do not publish 100% raw AI material/output. I will add an AI note on books that have used AI-assisted narration. My stories were nonetheless developed from original ideas, characters, plot, and dialogue. AI tools were used to assist with descriptive language, scene expansion, and structural refinement. All final content was reviewed, edited, and shaped to reflect my own developing voice, intent, and storytelling style.

3rd Place in Mystery/Thriller - Books Got Talent 2020 "babe where are you?" "Right outside the terminal. I don't see you." Daniella Spencer is flying to meet her boyfriend Luca just like she has done many times in the past. This time, something is off. Will she arrive at the right time? After the plane lands, she collects her luggage... but at this point, she would rather be surprised than try to force things so she goes out of the terminal... "Come here, baby girl! Come here to mama!" A beautiful voice is heard across the arrival terminal. Daniella turns around to witness what she can only call 'a picture-perfect Kodak moment'! As she stares at the young woman playing with her dog, Daniella realizes that the young woman was one of the passengers on her flight. She remembers seeing her on her way back from the bathroom. Her beautiful long dark mane captured her attention along with her interesting shade of pink lipstick. "Only a few lucky women in the world could pull off that specific shade of fuchsia" she recalled thinking to herself as their eyes met. "Aw Dani, I missed you too! Who's a good girl? I love you, I love you so much! Did you miss me? Where's Daddy?" A tall 5'11", leanish, shaggy-haired blonde man joins them. "Luca! Baby! I was starting to think the dog came alone to pick me up!" the beautiful young woman says as she lazily throws her arms around her partner. Daniella blinks rapidly as knots form all over her body. "What the hell is going on here?! What is my Luca, MY LUCA doing with this hoe? Are you... Are you f**king kidding me right now?... This is the deck of cards I'm handed today????" Daniella halts herself and thinks again. She regulates her breathing and tames her temper before continuing. "Was it The Universe's way of preparing me for this moment? Okay... All I know is that the only Happening that is Happening right now is me throwing hands at the airport at this fuschia b***ch."
