Character A & B are students that go to a regular school and run into some troubles. They are very good friends. Character C is a delinquent who has a bad history, and a recent one of seriously harming someone. Character D & E are living together but are very poor, but D is about to land a big job.

Twelve-year-old Ruby discovers that a secret world, connected to the human one, is in danger from the society that rules it. She must rescue this world, called Damarcinus, while also handling her recent bond to a dragon and the troubles of leading a rebellion!
