Love. People are so naive-young people at that. Four years ago in the 8th grade was when alma realized the amount of girls who thought they were in love. She never found out if the boys thought the same. Nor did she care. Perhaps it was only young love she didn't believe in. But either way, she continued seeing love as a game. Of the love that couldn't be, or the love that turned into the opposite. Hatred. Nonetheless, love was scary. Foreign. So what happens when she thinks she is experiencing it? How is she supposed to know? Or is she just supposed to feel it? Alma moves into LA with her mom and enters with dreams and aspirations. It's their somewhat annual summer trip.
