After finding the body of a young girl in the bushes of her New Orleans neighborhood, Miles, a pessimistic but fiercely loyal high schooler, becomes curious about the girl's history. Maybe it's because she's around her own age or because no one seems to have known her but Miles can't let go of the sight of her sunken body. The journal of Shaniece; We follow her as she goes through ups and downs, as she deals with bullies, severe anxiety, colorism, racism and the hardships of her verbally abusive father. She finds someone who helps her conquer it all, but like with anything else on this earth, it doesn't last. We watch her grow and change for the better and for the worst, we cry with her when shes fails and we rejoice with her when she succeeds. She's just trying to fit in, trying to find happiness in a world that deems her unacceptable because of the skin she was born in.

(this is a rough draft of a book in a seven book series I plan to publish when I can!) The zombie apocalypse isn't easy, especially when you're barely sixteen in Lawrence's case. though, what could possibly go wrong? he's got his two best friends, his trusty spear, and an extra binder just in case the clasps on his breaks. but things start to go downhill when the three of them accidentally find the origin point of it all, and believe it or not...it was a pretty unexpected find. what happens when three best friends are put to the test, especially with the newer additions to the group and Freaks lurking around every which Way?! if only Lawrence knew for himself...

Going to college is important for many of us. We all want to follow a pathway and do something we've always wanted to do. But, have you ever considered what this pathway looks like for a person who is a minority? This is my story, but, if I can inspire others by sharing all the hardships I've endured in the time I've been a student, then that's worth everything.
