A/N: I got this idea while watching the LHOTP 2-hour movie, "Look Back to Yesterday," as Albert aspired to be a doctor, but instead contracted a terminal illness. The show never really said whether Albert died or survived, but what if Albert somehow did survive and became a doctor and returned home to Walnut Grove? Albert Ingalls returns to Walnut Grove, Minnesota, after completing medical school, despite dealing with his illness by finding temporary herbal cures that seem to help alleviate the symptoms. Now able to treat the citizens of Walnut Grove, Albert realizes the herbs he's been using have reached their limit. Will Albert survive or succumb to his illness? An original Little House on the Prairie fanfiction scene centered on Albert Ingalls' return, written in a tone that fits the show's emotional, frontier‑family spirit, while giving you the dramatic stakes.
