But when Professor Wang Fu learned that these AIs were going to be used for evil purposes, he stole the AIs and went into hiding. Professor Fu managed to steal all the Miraculous Ignis, except for the Butterfly and the unfinished Peacock Ignis, which went missing during the theft. 10 years later, a hacker terrorist calling himself "Hawk Moth" appears in Den City and uses the power of the Butterfly Ignis to turn duelists into his own mind controlled supervillains in order to obtain the Ignis' power for himself. To stop Hawk Moth, Professor Fu gives the two most powerful Miraculous Ignis, the Ladybug and Cat Ignis, to two teenage duelists who become LINK VRAINS newest heroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir. But there are many mysteries waiting to be discovered in both LINK VRAINS and Den City as our heroes not only must fight against akumatized villains but also a terrorist group known as "The Knights Of Hanoi" who want to capture the Ignis as well.

She used this chance to prove that Marinette is not the all that good and get Master Fu to choose someone else once he see's Marinette is not a worthy Ladybug mariculous user.
