Hundun (混沌), representing "Primordial Chaos" or the "Four Perils" in Chinese mythology, is a conceptual deity often depicted as a faceless, six-legged, four-winged being. As a personification of chaos, Hundun generally lacks dedicated, mainstream temples. While researching an archeological site in the Tian Shan Mountain range in Xinjiang in North Western China, Ding Linlong discovers a forgotten god of mischief,a red, sack-like, six-legged, four-winged, faceless being surrounded by musical instruments. The Shanhaijing (Classic of Mountains and Seas) places a god known as Dijiang (帝江), who is identified with Hundun, on Tian Shan. After exploring their ancient temple, strange coincidences and uncanny events begin to follow Ding Boshi. Something from the deity has touched her life and now she must figure out what it wants.
