Sa ibabaw, nakikita ng lahat ang karangyaan at kaayusan ng Upperworld-ang academy na nagtuturo ng mahika, disiplina, at mga lihim na sining ng elementalist. Ngunit sa ilalim ng mga palasyo, sa ilalim ng mga lansangan at bulubundukin, umiiral ang matagal nang itinago-ang Underworld. Dito umiikot ang mga lihim ng kabangisan, kapangyarihan, at mafia-like na organisasyon. Ang mga sindikato at underground factions ay nagtataglay ng impluwensya na umaabot sa bawat sulok ng kaharian, at sa bawat lihim na transaksyon ay nakataya ang kapalaran ng marami.
