Shuhua needing a date to her cousin's wedding wasn't supposed to end up with the solution being Cho Miyeon-her college rival. - "I'd make a good fake date, I guess. And besides, it's only for two-maybe three days? I'm sure we can last that long without it getting too awkward for us." "Ugh, fine... But only to stop my grandparents from setting me up on another date." Miyeon is grinning from ear-to-ear, and Shuhua already thinks that this is a bad idea. - MiShu fake-dating AU (of sorts); not-so enemies to friends to lovers trope. Main Characters: Shuhua & Miyeon Pairing: MiShu Except your usual dump of fluff with maybe a tiny dose of angst or hurt somewhere in-between, a sweet, but flustered Shuhua, and a soft Miyeon. So, Shuhua just orbits for a while. Spinning on her little axis as she gravitates towards Miyeon's presence. - The group doesn't need her. She's a liability to them, an unnecessary burden that's constantly dragging them down. She's giving their name a bad rep, and no one is around to clean up her mess. Why should they? Shuhua isn't a kid anymore. She can't just get away doing something without being reprimanded for it. She's not an eight-year-old kid who has her parents cleaning up after her every time she comes into the house with mud on her shoes. No, she's twenty-one with responsibilities and expectations on her shoulders. She has to grow up and stop hiding behind the protection of others. She has to become better this time, for herself and for her team. But she's taking too long. The members don't need her. Shuhua doesn't deserve them. She doesn't deserve Miyeon. (G)I-DLE would be fine without her, right? - One-shot; heavily Shuhua-centric. This is more of a character observation/study that I've had in mind since January. Emotional Hurt and Comfort, with a fair dose of cringe-inducing fluff towards the end to compensate. (Yes, MiShu is very soft here because I'm into that good stuff.)
