I never would have thought that the Amazon Rainforest would feel like my home away from home. I'm just an awkward teenage girl who raises goats and the next thing I know, I'm traveling all around Peru, South America.

This is going to be my journaling story about the place I found myself this summer- a orphanage in Lima, Perú and where my life has been since I came back to the states. This is a mission book on my new view in life and how things changed. My goal is to get back home as soon as I can.

1914 in German East Africa. Brother and sister, Reverend Samuel and Miss Rose Sayer are British Christian missionaries. They are reliant upon Canadian Charlie Allnut, who owns and operates a run-down riverboat called the African Queen, for mail and supplies, Charlie who works as a mechanic at a mine one day away along the river. The Sayers merely tolerate Charlie, who they consider a little too rough around the edges for their proper British and Christian sensibilities. They consider his heavy drinking especially problematic. The Sayers only hear about the war raging in Europe from Charlie, not experiencing any of it until the Germans later raid their village, the Germans believing it the best way to control the natives and co-opt them into military service. Reverend Sayer passes away from the shock experienced by watching what the Germans did. As such, Charlie has to help Rose escape from the ravaged missionary compound before the Germans return. They not only have to beware the Germans, who Charlie knows they have to pass the only route along the river, but deal with dangers of the river, such as the rapids, and their own differences, especially being in such tight quarters on a 30-foot boat. Those differences are heightened when Charlie would rather wait their time out somewhere secluded along the river, while Rose suggests they torpedo a German gunboat along the way. But all these issues in combination make for strange bedfellows, the two who are dependent upon each other for both their physical and emotional well-being. At the start of World War I, Charlie Allnut is using his old steamer, The African Queen, to ferry supplies to villages in East Africa. When the Rev. Samuel Sayer dies, Charlie agrees to take Sayers' sister, Rose, back to civilization, taking on the Germans at the same time.

hello readers !! this is a mormon love story, or maybe it's more of a love story that has elements of mormonism. i myself am not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but i do have a deep fascination with the religion, it's people, and the culture. i will do my very best to respect the culture and the church, as i would want someone to do for my own religion. if there ever comes a point in my writing in which maybe there's something missing or i used a slang word wrong, please feel free to give me tips/suggestion on how to make the story more enjoyable for an LDS member. i hope that my story if a fun and entertaining read.

When a mission trip takes a turn for the worse , Thia is stuck halfway across the world with no means of escape. No passport to prove she's an American, no food, and no money. I have only to mention it’s name in conversation and people turn to listen. Why, for 180 years, has it drawn people from all over to come, stay longer than they imagined and, often, never leave? This book is a memoir of a family's life in a remote aboriginal community, in Australia's Northern Territory. The place Oenpelli,(now Gunbalanya) is near Kadadu National Park, made famous in Crocodile Dundee. It is a memoir of growing up in one of the most isolated parts of Australia - in a small aboriginal missionary community in the Northern Territory, something the equivalent of the remote Canada or Alaska. It is the landscape featured in the movie Crocodile Dundee. It is a story of my memories and love for this remote and beautiful place, in which I lived as a child then worked as an adult and of many NT characters who gave me the memories.It is also the story of me working as an adult across many parts of the NT and about the hardy, outlandish characters that inhabit this place. It also tells of my own experience of surviving attack by a large crocodile in a remote swamp It also provides a foundation for my novels in the Crocodile Spirit Dreaming Series. The places in these books are the places in which I lived and worked and many of the stories came little changed from people I knew.
