Re-write/fix-it fic of sorts, for Stranger Things (Mike/Will -centric) Starts at the end of season 3, when the Byers' have just moved out. Mike's POV, what he got up to (in my mind), for those months in between season 3 and season 4. I'm planning on keeping the basic structure of s4 there but just altering the scenes that included Will and Mike. Not touching other plotlines as much. *Not sure of the exact date of the Byer's move, Stranger Things wiki would state they were living in Lenora from Oct '85 - March '86. I would just gather that the school year or semester would start earlier than October. "Better?" Mike asks, and Will nods but still looks incomplete. It's when Mike settled into bed next to him, their shadows visible on the wall, that Mike thinks, he looks complete. Or, Mike and Will in the same bed, despite the silence that separates them.

Mike and Will met one day on a swing set, not knowing it would cause the shape of their lives to change drastically.

Since the duffer brothers absolutely queerbaited and bombed byler for season five, I want to rewrite season five with my own narrative so we arent queer baited and get the love story everybody wants. Season Five of Stranger Things was supposed to be Hawkins' darkest hour-but what if the story unfolded the way it should have? This is a rewrite that keeps the stakes high, the suspense real, and the Hawkins gang at the center, without the distraction of extra kids or queerbaiting. Mike Wheeler and Will Byers have always been at the heart of it, their bond deeper than Hawkins can ever understand. Through terror, heartbreak, and mind-bending horrors, they navigate a world that's trying to tear them apart-without ever realizing how much they mean to each other. Hawkins isn't the same without Will-and Mike's about to realize that the person he's been searching for all along has been right in front of him.

Hi! It's Alec. This is my first fanfic!! English isn't my first language so if there are spelling mistakes or similar, I'm sorry!! This is a Byler fanfic (Will Byers + Mike Wheeler), it will focus on their story mainly, but of course, it follows the original Stranger Things plot. It happens in season three, when Mike confesses that "he loves Eleven and he can't lose her again". This story came to me in a dream, I added a few things to make it more, "story like." I didn't want it to be very long, kind of a 'short and sweet' type story for all the BYLERS out there. Depending on how much you guys like it, I might shit out another one for you. (Also, my hugest apologies, I'm not very amazing with English.) The time is set in 1988, the party is in the midst of trying to defeat Vecna, so you'll get all that drama, puppy dog eyes stuff that you like lol

The last time Mike and Will had seen each other was at a graduation party in 1989, now 3 years later, Will is an art student in San fransisco and Mike is in the city for a meeting with a publisher about his new book he's been writing. Riddled with his grief of El and his guilt of what happened at the party, Mike struggles to handle his feelings for Will. Will has a new life and struggles with the internal battle of whether he should let Mike back into his life or move on without him after bumping into him in a bar.
