Little snippets of my mind

This prose poem/flash fiction takes place in the 80s. It uses music to set the mood and tell the story of two lovers who meet in high school and where life takes them beyond that.

so this is the start of my rap career, opening up with (crooked past & present) all my life I've wanted to make somthing like this, I've always had the vision without the voice... til now. and really the inspiration for the mixtape was the personal struggles of fictional serial killer's. and on my behalf of the ballad most of my stories are told through the eyes of my childhood.

One night, everything changes for Brenda Cole when she is served a drink by Shawn Mendes, who finds himself drawn to Brenda despite the fact that he is still nursing a broken heart. While Brenda feels a way she has never felt before when she's with Shawn, the outside pressures can be overwhelming - despite Shawn's best efforts to protect Brenda from the scrutiny - and Brenda had been alone for so long before Shawn, that she sometimes wonders if she would be happier if she stepped back out of the spotlight. Shawn has a big life and has already had a big love, and Brenda has had neither . . . yet. Will Shawn be her big love? Will their love be big enough to overcome anything?
