"Boris," I declared, my tone leaving no space for negotiation.
"Bella," he shot back, completely unbothered.
"I'm not going," I stated firmly, tossing the clothes he had packed out of the bag and pushing the backpack aside on my mattress.
"There's no debate. You will go," he pressed on; Boris's voice boomed with authority, and his Russian accent became more pronounced.
"Good luck with that, because I refuse to budge." I crossed my arms and met his gaze with a confident smirk, but he remained unamused.
Without missing a beat, he picked the bag up again, tossed the same clothes back into it, and swiftly began gathering anything else he deemed necessary. I noticed his own luggage already waiting by the bedroom door-it dawned on me that this was his plan all along. Within moments, he had a firm grip on my arm and was leading me down the staircase, our bags in tow and me reluctantly in his grasp.
I fought against him, but his hold only tightened, a dull ache creeping in as I struggled more.
"ΠΠ΅ Π±ΡΠ΄Ρ ΡΠ΅ΡΡΠΎΠ²ΡΠΌ ΡΠΎΠΏΠ»ΡΠΊΠΎΠΌ," he warned, turning to grip my face. "Stop fighting; this is for your safety."
As much as I loathed to admit it, he was right-someone was systematically eliminating my family, and I was the next target. I needed him, whether I liked it or not. The truth was, without this annoyingly skilled man, my life could be extinguished in a heartbeat.
