NY00132, just like all the other farms, is a place for uninteresting, normal people who never do anything unusual. Altus Menda doesn't tick any of those boxes. If it wasn't obvious already, he's a mistake and he knows it. Not only does his name label him exactly that, but he also frequently experiences Memory Shards that deteriorate his social life and general mentality. Throughout his life, he's dreamed of being normal, which is the most he could ever dream for. But when he correctly predicts that a giant wall will emerge from a hole and block off the exit to his farm (which isn't a usual occurrence by anyone's standards), everybody's outlook changes. What is going on behind the scenes? And how is Altus Menda, the 'big mistake', involved in it?

"Cipher" is a sharp, tech-laced poem about unmasking deception. It shows how something that seems smart and in control-like a machine-can still be flawed and hollow inside, and how truth cuts through even the most coded disguise.

Published in the Western Australian Primo Lux Poetry Anthology, Modern Dystopia is a short poem that highlights just how similar the world is becoming to a science fiction, post apocalyptic reality. This reality is one that we all experience at some point in our lives. How close will we get to a Modern Dystopia before we can't go back?
