Heroes. We think we know them. What they look like. What they do. They avenge the wronged, defend the weak, guard our galaxy. They kick some ass, take some names, and look good while doing it. They never end up covered in mud. Never bleed. Never fall. It's effortless. Easy as breathing... So why does it feel like I can't breathe? Why am I sat here covered in so much blood that I don't know where theirs ends and my own begins? Why does it feel like the whole world is coming to an end, and there's nothing I can do to save it? I was meant to be the hero of this story wasn't I? That's how all of this started. I was meant to save people. So how could it have turned out like this, all alone, watching the world burn, with her blood on my hands? Am I really the hero of this story, or am I just another lonely pathetic universe filler? Some flat static stock character whose life doesn't matter and never will. Or worse, am I the villain? Have all my sins finally caught up with me, and this is just the price? The universe has judged me and found me wanting? I know the things I've done. The people I've hurt. The lies I've told. All just another strand in the web of my life. But then, I guess I'd know more about that than most. I've been known by many names throughout the years. Savior. Murderer. Criminal. Spy. Thief. Freak. This was originally meant for the author's eyes only, purely written for fun (during the start of the Lockdowns in 2020), but a couple of friends suggested to upload it on a fanfic website. This is based on the Ultimate Spiderman series and the Avengers Assemble series. The Dark Winter is technically the prequel while the original story is entitled The Coming Winter. It's a blend of the author's own ideas and the episode series. Still a work in progress.

After Jaune's transcripts were revealed by Cardin almost everyone turned their backs on him. The only ones who stayed with him were Ruby, Blake, Yang, Nora, Ren, Pyrrha, CFVY, and the school staff, even Goodwitch is on his side. A few days after his father disowns him, Jaune tells his friends he's going to train in the Emerald Forest to let off some steam.
