The time loop affected the baby's DNA. They couldn't keep it so Rip Hunter took the baby to his stepmother. Sara didn't want it to grow up in violence, like she did...like Snart did. Quentin became an alcoholic after Sara's death leading to your mother, Dinah, divorcing him and taking you with her to Central City. In your devastation, you never said goodbye to Thea which effected her more than you knew. When you turned 15 in 2010, you made a promise to yourself to not become like Quentin and let the grief devour you, you decided to do everything you could to make the world a better place. For years, you never contacted your family or Thea, not thinking you would ever see them again.
