With their minds filled with some series episodes and a few horror films, Molly Hooper and Sherlock Holmes go into an adventure that makes them doubt their own eyes. On Halloween eve, the couple tries to escape from a vengeful ghost while investigating why the poor woman's spirit harbours so much rage. Abandoned by logic and science, relying only on each other's protection, they wander through an empty, dark London looking for answers. Molly was bored. And as Sherlock never even knew she was there, she didn't expect her boredom to end any time soon. Until she found an unexpected tissue sample study in her paperwork, it intrigued her. She was happy to have something to occupy herself, little did she know that a certain curly haired detective had put it there to help cure her of the illness he perceives boredom to be.

'He sees everything, she sees a human, I see an opportunity.' Sherlock has convinced them that he is incapable of humanlike qualities; that, even if he wanted to, he would be unable to show his affection towards her or towards them. He chooses to be this way to keep her protected. To keep them all protected from his demons and his payments long overdue. But when he defies his own intentions, the demons climb down from their perches to take the payments they're owed. They merge together to form the face of a dead man, one Sherlock had been certain was coming for /him/. But its never been him. All along, James Moriarty has been Molly Hooper's demon. Sherlock can't simply de-humanise himself now. It's far too late; they have both found themselves caught within the web, the next move they make will strum a thread. And the thread will beckon the spider. All this time, he thought caring was a disadvantage. When really, caring keeps you alive.

After the phone call, there has been a tear between Molly and Sherlock, which he believes cannot be repaired. 1 and half years later, he realizes that he still loves her, but she doesn't love him anymore. He goes into disguise in hopes of one last chance.
