Emylin Harris hates men. This is because of her mother who always chose the men who hurt her rather than the women who loved her. Weirdly enough, Emylin couldn't find herself to hate her stepbrother ever since they first met when her mother remarried. When she finally found someone who loves her the way she wanted to be loved, she had to leave. After years of building her own life and freedom, Emylin went on a vacation in Paris. There, she met Haven, a man that reminds her of that little boy she had left years ago.
Both Emylin and Haven spent a night together, where they only talked about their dreams and deep thoughts. It was all emotional, never physical. It all felt too familiar to Emylin, but she took it as a one-time thing as she had to fly back home the next day.
The freedom that she built all those years were disrupted by a phone call from an unknown number. It was her mother who called. Mother was sick and didn't have much time left and she wanted to spend the little time she had with her daughter. But, why now? When death is only a knock away. Emylin couldn't say no as her heart was bigger than her ego. She flew back to a place where she was raised, but never a home.
There, Emylin reunited with her mother. A weight keeps on pressing on her chest at the thought of her finally meeting her stepbrother again. The little boy that she loved so dearly has now grown into a man.
A man that she never expected to be...
"You?"
"Welcome home, Emy"
