Kaito and Maki have known each other since freshman year of college. They're amazingly close, and Rantaro and Kokichi tease Maki constantly about how obliviously in love they are. She, however, thinks he's just a really great friend and tends to rely on him for a lot of things. They meet on the balcony every night, Maki's legs dangling over the side rather dangerously, and Kaito worrying she's going to fall. This story takes place in an alternate universe, where Hope's Peak is exactly what it's marketed as: A highschool. This story will follow Kaito and Maki being normal teenagers, and shows a universe where the too fall in love with each other. I wanna give them that happy ending that they deserve :)

Maki Harukawa is a stoic and calculated assassin sent on a mission to kill the heroic and passionate Prince Kaito at the royal ball. Her mission seems to be going fine until the unknowing prince takes her hand and swoops in for a dance. While she somehow finds herself charmed by him, she also sees her entire career shattering before her. As this strange first encounter brings the two closer, they both start to feel their worlds turn upside down. Will Maki's stone-cold heart finally melt? Although Kaede wondered about the answer, in the end, she didn't really care- just as long as it was free, as Maki had promised her.
