A god descended, cloaked in flame,
To woo a maid of mortal name.
Beneath the stars, their fates entwined-
A child divine, by love designed.
But far above, his queen did see,
Her wrath as vast as storm-swept sea.
"No baby shall touch the earth below,
No soil shall feel his birth's first woe."
She cast a curse with voice like fire,
And left the maiden to expire.
No land, no shore, would grant her grace-
No place to birth in time or space.
But hope still stirred on drifting tide,
A secret isle the gods would hide.
Callisto, born of wave and air,
A haven floating, light as prayer.
There pain gave way to glory's glow,
As the child was born below-
Not on the earth, nor in the sea,
But where the sun gave prophecy.
