Dear Diary, On 20th November, 2968, the power went out in the morning. This had happened before, but the adults were worried that electricity would not be restored for a long, indefinite period of time. That's because we suddenly, mysteriously ran out of running water. We're still trying to negotiate to get our water back, but the damage is done. Due to the lack of electricity, our electric dome shields faded and allowed the Sun's UV rays to pass through. Our skin had not been exposed to said UV rays before, and so most people suffered from minor to severe burns. People with bad burns could not be treated properly, so the deaths started and the number is only growing higher day by day. Just a diary written by a 14 year old, nameless girl. Set over 900 years in the future, it tells the story of how humans become dependent on things beyond their control. How humankind progressed, yet remained the same. How things occurring 200 years in the past can impact the future, and how tradition is just peer pressure from the dead.
