Written for writing group homework. All words are monosyllabic.

An english assignment. with a twist

The rain hit the ground hard like the beat of a drum. It was not hard to be lulled by its taps, a guide for the beat of his heart. All the while, his shoes struck the ground at a rate that did not change as his legs ate up the road that kept him from where he ought to be, safe and sound. He was brought from the scene of the fight as fast as he could go. Where he would go the boy did not know for sure. Nor did his mind care; his sole care in the world at the time was to get out, leave the scene. The rain seemed to track him down; a large, mad cloud chased the boy through the streets as wind whipped his hair. Rain poured where he went, and the world fell to his left and right in his wake. Brick fell, scared yells pierced the night. Yet through the mess of it all, it was hard to stay fixed on the boy and all that was in his wake, all the things he seemed to cause. - Jess has a dream about a strange boy who seems to cause the world to fall down where he goes. When she wakes, she can't shake the dream from her mind. ( More to Come )
