Set in the spring of 1920 in the New England region of Massachusetts, Calls The Deep is an indie novella following the young protagonist, Charlotte, and the quiet domesticity of her seaside life upended by a great storm and a surprising guest seeking refuge. After inheriting her family's little seaside cottage in the wake of her mother's death, Charlotte moves upstate to escape her life, family, and expectations in Boston. But she quickly finds not everything can be escaped simply by running, and when an inexplicable creature ends up on her couch, recovering from a grievous wound, she is forced to come to terms with what truly matters in her life.
