The arrival of a mysterious alien time traveller worsens the suspicion created among the explorers of the Omicron settlers. Accidents on the lunar surface become frequent happenings. The entities that emerge to invade Omicron 4 begin to seep in and feed on the humans. The Doctor realises that if the entities were to reach the other stations and Earth, the human race would become the livestock of an all-consuming alien race. Under the rule of oppression, Alpha and the other space travellers must either submit to the will of the automated controllers of the planet, or witness the destruction of their species. Whilst on the other side of the moon, a desperate venture is made to fight for Alpha's existence.
