When an elderly woman dies, a small town sheriff goes on the hunt to find out what happened to her. Her scars are decades old, but it's his job to find out why an old woman who has been a member of the community for years had been beaten and tortured. The only person who might be able to answer his questions is the woman's best friend. Does she have the answers and is she willing to tell him their secrets?

You see, ever since the fight over the Ivy River, Silvercrest Pack and Moonshine Pack have been warring, with Riverstone Pack stuck in the middle, trying to withhold the peace, drawing out the treaties. The meetings Riverstone tries to keep going never get anywhere. Soon the pack might give up entirely, leaving Silvercrest and Moonshine Packs to massacre themselves and stay out of it.

Suspense in the Smokey Mountains. Savannah, born and raised in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, knew the ways of the mountain. She had only experienced the outside world from the books she read.
