(aka "Alone?") I adopted this fanfic from @CartoonsAreAmazing. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Varian has been groomed and abused by Saporian Andrew since their jailbreak. After Princess Rapunzel and company return from their journey, they must defeat the evil separatists in order to save Corona and Varian. Soon after his father is freed from the amber, the young boy is taken into the care of Rapunzel and Eugene. The couple have come to view Varian as their own. They're determined to be whatever Varian needs as he heals from Andrew's abusive influence. But nothing ever comes easy for the little alchemist. A secret enlightens the child to a spectacular destiny. And a creeping evil is approaching, threatening to shroud Corona in eternal darkness and its eyes are unfortunately pointed at Varian. What will become of the teenage boy? Is he doomed to be swallowed in pain and loneliness forever? Or will the light be his greatest salvation? This is going to be my own version of the Moon Varian theory as well as my own Varian redemption arc. My own take on Season Two as far as we have (plus my own version of future events). Varian has been in prison for four months. Four long and boring months. Either with good luck or terrible luck. Varian came up with a plan. Little did he know, he would be getting out of prison sooner then he thought and a new power will overtake his world. Will, he accepts Rapunzel's help and learn to control his new abilities and return to the light. Or will he turn her away and get pulled into the darkness. I'll try to update every week. This story is inspired by 'darkness exists to make light truly count' by AquaQuadrant on AO3. What if Varian was the moondrop? What if he was kidnapped by Gothel? What if Varian and Rapunzel were raised as siblings?

Varian pushed himself to the limit through the raging blizzard but his efforts were in vain as he was quickly thrown back out in it again, however he did not quite manage it back. Luckily, he was saved in time by a dog and a pair of strangers from some far away land. They stand by him during this very difficult time despite the risks to themselves.

All Cassandra's life, everything has been about Rapunzel. And now she's found out that her own mother chose the princess over her! She's tired of taking a passive role and is taking her destiny as Princess of Corona by FORCE! No matter who she has to cut through to do it. Rapunzel will have to track down her former friend and stop her, or lose everything she gained since leaving the tower.

Varian is living his normal life as Corona's royal engineer until one of his experiments goes wrong. He must find out how to deal with this problem despite a few psychotic thoughts. Even so, the Moonstone keeps tampering with him. What will he do?

The Sundrop and Moonstone are fated to be together. When Rapunzel meets young Varian, her relationship with Eugene is put into question and Eugene finds that his "new dream" is threatened by an unlikely source!

When the past comes back to Corla and Varien has no idea how to keep it away from repunzel.
