Remus Lupin is blind. He used to be able to see, but after he was knifed in an alleyway at age 7 because his father was caught up in gang business, his eyes were destroyed. He knows how to live, how to get around London effectively, but he's been treated differently, as if he's an invalid. He just wants to be seen as a normal human being, but no one apart from his best friends can see him this way. Until Sirius comes along.
