CHAPTER 1
A feather falls from above. I look up and see geese flying south for the winter. They fly as I stand here, wishing to be like them. I wish I could fly far away from here, to a place where only happiness is allowed. But I am stuck here where everything is frosty. Everything is cold. Everything is white.
The world is a blank page, a canvas waiting to be painted. I walk farther into the woods. I see a vermillion colored fox trot towards a rushing river. He takes a drink, and runs away. I turn around, continuing back to where I started; my home.
As I walk through woods, I can hear the snow crunch beneath my feet. I can see my frozen breath. I can smell freshly baked cookies through the crisp air. My cheeks are rosy, my fingers are
numb. Everything is cold. Everything is white.
I approach a medium size waterfall. I feel the mist sting my skin. I hear the harsh crashing of the water on the sharp rocks below. Snow falls from a tree above. It lands close to my left arm and creates
a slight breeze as it falls. I enjoy my time in the woods. It keeps me peaceful happy, and curious.
I turn to the river. There is something in the water. It takes the shape of a fallen deer. As I walk closer, I realize it is neither an animal nor a rock. No. I will not believe it. I start to tumble on my feet. Blood turns the blue water into a glowing, crimson liquid. The lump that lies near me is a human body.
