Mori Ōgai's classical novel, "The Wild Geese" or "The Wild Goose" (1911-13, 雁 Gan), was first published in serial form in Japan, and tells the story of unfulfilled love set against a background of social change and Westernization. The story is set in 1880 Tokyo. The novel contains commentary on the changing situation between the Edo and Meiji periods. The characters of the novel are diverse, including not only students preparing for a privileged intellectual life and commoners who provide services to them, but also a pair of highly developed female characters. It was a regular day in the Port Mafia when suddenly, 14 year old Dazai Osamu abruptly fell unconscious in the middle of a meeting with Mori, Kouyou and the other executives. While unconscious, he received a vision of his future with his life at home with his beautiful children and his gorgeous husband. He looked so loved and happy. Once awake and returned to his own world, Dazai spends every ounce of his energy searching for his future husband so he could bring them into the mafia. What journey will he and the rest of the mafia ensue once they've found his adorable husband who turns out to hold mystery upon mystery within himself?

For preventing him of harm, Kouyo disguises him as a gifted girl, who lost her husband and is also hunted by the mafia. What would she do but asking the Detective Agency for help?
