'He died?!' I asked my mum with gray astonishment within black sorrow that got deeply rooted in my heart bit by bit when I started thinking about him and about the past. Ba L'Maati was a 57 years old man, worked in the high school that I used to go to, 4 years ago, as a guardian. I remember that he used to wear a black jacket with two white big stripes on it, he never wore something else. There was that one time when I was sitting with my friend Fatiha before the walls of the high school and we were singing this song: When I need you.. Just close my eyes and see you.. He heard us and from that moment on whenever I passed through those old green gates, with the "F" word on them in white paint, he stopped me and asked me to sing him the song he heard, sometimes he would sing it to me on my way out and my friends wouldn't understand why he did that every time. He sang the lyrics perfectly except for the mocking part, I hated it.
