People used to say that a man is complete with a woman by his side. They symbolize the harmony, the fulness, like Yin and Yang. Maybe that's the reason why Sandman can't find the very last element to rebuild his kingdom? Maybe that girl with that astonishing, magical blond locks is the secret ingredient to his final success?

Many years ago, a young witch was created by a single dream. A single story which made her breathe.

The new era of Dreams and Nightmares are coming to pass as Morpheus regains his power after imprisonment by the Burgess family as well as retrieving his tool. However, with the Vortex not too far behind as well as other supernatural threats, the King of Dreams must seek help from new unexpected arrivals. From the denizens of Hell to the migrant walkers of the day, the fate of the waking world and the Dreaming lies upon a King and his newfound family. Disclaimers: -This includes several of my own characters and they will (at some point) get their own introductions without giving out too much information (ex. Princess Cassandra of Troy was cursed by the god Apollo for turning down his advances. In an effort to protect the women in her fathers employ from soldiers with similar intentions, she alters their dreams into nightmares. But once the King of Dreams finds out, they form an unlikely friendship. (This is loosely based on the Greek myths of Cassandra of Troy, but will eventually bring the characters into the modern era)

When I wished to be a dream, that wish had been granted by him. Morpheus, who gave me hope; who'd turned suffering into joy, sadness into happiness. Daydream, he'd set on calling me throughout the centuries I've spent by his side. I was his first creation, his loyal subject, his oldest friend. He was my first hope, my second dream, my only love. But when he suddenly leaves, my hope starts to wither, my dreams become blurred, and with the Dreaming, I too begin to decay. It is rare for dreams to find a place in reality and the daydreams hardly ever come true. However, time has come for me to materialise on Earth: to find my hope back. My time's running out. I need to find him before I turn wicked, and a dream will become a nightmare again.

In a world far out of reach, tucked away in the recesses of the unconscious mind, is a being of unfathomable importance. Someone so essential to the fabric of existence that one may question their own. He exists only to serve and spur the minds of man. But, how can one do that when man is the one to betray him? He falls back in his seat, spreading his right arm over the back of the booth ."Know what else I'm just saying?" You grin, "what?" He raises his left hand, finger swiping at your food before he flicks your nose with it, smearing it in white. "You should eat your ice cream before it melts." "Grandad!" You giggle, turning away from his hand, palming your nose to wipe away the ice cream." He grins back at you, eyes shifting from your face to your food as he grabs his spoon, "or maybe I'll have to eat it first," You quickly grab the bowl, hoisting it away from him, hastily adding a "no, I got it!" as he moves to tuck into his own bowl.

Each Endless has a companion. These companions were created by their mother and father as a way for them to truly find a being that they could share their eternity with. To allow for some form of love to blossom and grow such as the love between night and time. Each companion holds a mark of claim on their being to show which Endless holds their soul. Each mark is uniquely different. Hob Gadling was one of these companions. He isn't Dreams.
