This is a dark, emotionally rich reimagining of the biblical Cain, transported into war-torn 21st-century Ukraine. Haunted by millennia of guilt and loneliness, Cain wanders a city shaken by explosions and covered in smoke, believing himself doomed to repeat his ancient sin. Yet amid the ruins he encounters two people - the cautious, battle-worn Serhiy and the quietly luminous Olena - whose warmth and honesty begin to challenge everything he thinks he knows about fate, forgiveness, and the weight of the past.
Through shared coffee in a dusty shelter, difficult conversations, and the fragile beauty of a sunrise over a battered landscape, Cain discovers something he never expected to feel again: hope. The story follows his inner struggle as he confronts the question of whether a person shaped by violence can choose a different path - not for redemption or divine pardon, but simply because the presence of others gives him the strength to try.
