She also thought its meaning was this only, but when her search began she came to realize this was only a meaning on the surface because for her this journey was in search of her own..

(This short story was written for an on-the-spot writing contest back when I was in college. We were given one hour to write -by hand- in 1,500 words or less a short story that had three things in it - an old woman, a tree and a cemetery. This story won the Grand Finals and was published in the Philippine Star Newspaper. It was the second short I've ever written and posting it on Wattpad is giving me the inspiration I need to write once again.
