This story is about Jack and Elizabeth's future if Jack hadn't died in his posting at Fort Clay. (In Elizabeth's perspective). Apologies if you find a word misspelt or if the grammar is incorrect. What advice did Benton Fraser give his daughter when she went to Chicago? This work appears in my post-canon serialized Due South novel, Northern Lights, as a letter of advice that Benton Fraser writes to his daughter Elizabeth before she travels to Chicago on the trail of her best friend's killers. I am posting it as a stand-alone work for fans who may be interested but don't want to read an entire novel. Can you guess where some of this advice comes from? For the context of this letter, see chapters 6 and 10 of Northern Lights.

The year is 1919 and in a town in the Hudson Bay area of Ontario trouble is brewing. Besides two lovers being divided and the town being ruled by a Mountie with an iron fist, rumours of annexation by the United States has everyone anxious. In the middle of everything stands Cain Canaan as he approaches a final confrontation with his archenemy William French, the tyrannical Mountie.

Too good to be playing by the rules. The brass decide to assign a new partner to spy on him. Taggart's new partner discovers a society dependent upon unwritten rules. To break these rules is to lose respect. To lose respect is to lose one's life. Loose Ends is terrifying. It is a tale of violence, corruption, and retribution, but it is also a story of honour and respect.

On his first trip to Ottawa, Chicago Police Detective Ray Vecchio just wanted to get a medal and a little hero treatment for saving a train full of Mounties. But when terrorists take the Canadian Prime Minister hostage, it's up to Ray and a couple of unarmed Mounties to save the day. Set in 1996. Takes place between season 2 and season 3 of Due South. Written for the Due South Seekrit Santa 2024 gift exchange.
