Nathan is disillusioned and has to get on with his life, he rescues Little Jack from a savage dog attack and, even though he is injured, he goes to Fort Clay to carry out the same training exercise that took Jack's life. Elizabeth is trying to have her relationship with Lucas, but she worries about Nathan. There are many more problems for them all to confront.
