Certainly he doesn't expect to stumble upon a mysterious stranger at the Phillies Dinner on a quiet night. Conflicts string them apart and a fellow co-worker starts to look more and more dreamy as the days pass. Will a letter from a past lover make things hard on Earl and turn this into a tragic love triangle? "I became a shard of glass that bled you every time you held on." They see the version of me that walked away. They see the silence, the "happy" mask I wear, and a heart that seemingly moved on too fast. To the world, I'm the one who didn't fight. I'm the one who let it all come undone. But there is a difference between moving on and just trying to stay above water. These poems are the confession of a survivor who is tired of being the villain in everyone else's story. It's about the noise no one hears, the soulmate I had to lose to find myself, and the terrifying reality of healing before you're "supposed" to. I'm the villain of this story. But if you look closely at the ashes, you'll see I was the one who caught fire first. Read my poems to see that grief.
