I love watching movies and I don't write reviews nor rate movies (as well as books) cos I'm not a critic. I watch movies for entertainment. I might notice some bad acting and qualities but I don't judge and dwell on the negative aspects of the movies that I watched. I love learning life lessons from the movies. I started to jot them down this year (I don't write them most of the time, though 😅). I'll keep in mind to write them when there's one. However, I thought of writing something about movies lately. It's a sort of remembrance. I'd like something to look back to about a particular movie in the future. I won't write reviews of all the movies I will watch. I'm not a movie critic and will never be. I might write a negative comment or two but it will be something that gets me confused. Anyways, too much for blabbing. I hope you'll find time to read the reviews. You can find the lists of the movies that I watched each year on Letterboxd. Here is the link to my profile https://letterboxd.com/yuchaemoon/

Some films linger long after they've finished. Bring Her Back (2025) is one of them. It's not only frightening-it's haunting, but differently so. It illustrates what occurs when love gets someone too far. Sarah, the protagonist, is mourning her daughter. She's lonely, shattered, and yearning to return to her little girl. So when she learns about a ritual to bring her back, she takes the opportunity. But as they say, some things are best left untouched. Everything is okay at first. Her daughter is home. But slowly, things start to go odd. Her child is not the same anymore. She's quiet, cold, and there's something about her which feels... odd. Sarah struggles to cling on, but soon she must confront reality: this could be someone else's daughter, not hers. The film combines fear with emotion perfectly. It's not loaded with cheap frights. Rather, it develops gradually, drawing you deeper into Sarah's anguish and the enigma surrounding her daughter's return. The story, acting, and atmosphere all combine to keep you on the edge of your seat. Bring Her Back is not simply a horror film. It's a sober reminder that some losses, no matter how unbearable, have to be accepted.

If you're looking for a romantic film that's light but meaningful, Materialists (2025) is a great choice. The movie tells the story of Lucy, a matchmaker who believes in love-but only if it comes with money and success. She meets Harry, a rich client who treats her like a queen. Then, her old boyfriend, John, shows up and reminds her of love that's real, even without money. This story is very relatable. Many people today feel pressure to choose comfort over true emotions. This film shows how hard that choice can be. It's emotional but not heavy, and has many sweet and funny moments too. The acting is wonderful. Dakota Johnson plays Lucy with grace and strength. Pedro Pascal is charming as Harry, and Chris Evans as John brings honesty and heart. I watched this movie on Afdah, and I recommend it for anyone who enjoys romantic dramas with a real-life feel. It's not just about falling in love-it's about growing as a person and learning what matters most.

The undeniably unique story of Red and Andrew Dufresne in the Shawshank State Prison. "If you were asked: Having all the evidence enough to convict someone? Probably your answer would be yes with a capital OF COURSE. But this story will tell you otherwise. -Note- This is just a review from a movie. The author was just so touched and amazed at the story that she decided to make a review just after watching it, so that she couldn't forget all the details and can share the story with other people. -ctto

Before the start of this movie, I was quite certain of my expectations from watching How to Train Your Dragon (2025). I had seen the animated version probably many years ago and loved it. Due to this live-action remake, however, a certain novelty arrived: realism that further deepened the story. Hiccup simply doesn't fit into the Viking way of life. He's calm and cerebral, and fighting dragons is far from being on his agenda. So he's relatable on that account. What stirred me much more in my heart was his bonding with Toothless, the very dragon that everyone else feared. Their friendship is not fast or easy; it has got to build over time through trust and patience. That makes it so believable. It sends a strong message: Sometimes, being different is your strength. Hiccup challenges the beliefs of his people and stands alone, risking everything, for what he believes is right-and that takes tremendous courage. Action, emotion, and humor are all mixed together brilliantly in the film, so it is never too intense. The effects of the dragons have to be mentioned- they are so real. You feel that Toothless is an actual living being. The movements, the reactions, even his playful side-exceedingly well executed. I was truly able to connect with the emotional scenes, especially when Hiccup and his father find themselves at odds. I found the movie on Afdah, and it played beautifully in HD. No lags or pop-ups. If you're looking for a movie that gives you more than just entertainment - something with heart and meaning - this is it.
